Brooks Institute of Photography Exit Portfolio

I was digging through some files today...trying to organize a completely chaotic hard drive...and found my exit portfolio for the Brooks Institute of Photography.  It was interesting to see how different I shot then, and how I've evolved as a photographer.  I feel like I've really simplified things...kind of slowed them down I guess.  The entire portfolio was shot in Argentina.  I used these images because I felt they best represented who I was and what I wanted to document on this earth.  It was incredibly interesting for me to read the captions and try and place myself in those moments again.  The story was about the growing Pentecostal movement in Argentina.  At the time it was the fastest growing religion in the country, I'm not sure if that's still the case or not, and seen as a nuisance by the Catholic church.  How the Argentine's perceived a church, or a sanctuary, was such a stark contrast from what Americans typically feel is one.  We expect it to be clean and orderly and overall just comfortable.  They simply needed a place to gather and worship.  Take time to actually examine the photographs and look at the raw emotion in the images, these aren't about composition, they are a series of moments.  I hope you enjoy.
